Sickness somehow equals productivity. With my sore-throat at hand, I took to the EQs and worked out the levels on the chorus a bit. Richer, fuller, more loud: all totally okay words to describe the way the vocals sound. This is probably some of the most complicated (yet listenable) sound design I’ve come up with to date, probably the least spectacular song form ever. Sounds best when turned up to +11.
You’re closing in on the other side
We’ll be waiting here until you arrive
Night after night you cut your stride
Now how much farther?
How much time?
Do we have to wait?
Until we have it all
Until we get a break,
Until we can be tall enough to see what it’s like to fall.
Your locusts sing for the end of time
We can hear them bleed from a thousand miles away
Night after night you’ll dull your mind
Keep an even keel over wasted time
